Girl Scout Troop 1228

Our troop is working on the Bronze Award this year!

Bronze Award Project

Our troop is working on our Bronze Award, a leadership adventure and the highest honor a Girl Scout Junior can achieve. We are excited to be working with Second Chance Dog Rescue, a San Diego organization with foster homes all around the county that rescues and places 80-100 dogs a month — that is more than most humane societies and more than Rancho Coastal Humane Society or Helen Woodward Animal Center.

We have planned and organized the project ourselves. One part is to make dog beds to give to the new families when they adopt a dog. They will also be making “adopt me” vests for the dogs to wear in foster homes which is highly effective in getting them adopted. Lastly, we will be working adoption events where we will help to get as many dogs adopted as possible.  We will be working with the dogs, walking them and talking with people who are interested in adopting.

Adoption Events:

Saturday, April 21st at Sports Arena Petco, 10am-3pm

Saturday, May 26th at Poway Petco, 10am-3pm

I would love to send you an email about a possible fun event for your girl scouts (or other troops) which would also count for badges, awards.
    Thanks,
